Day Off is the most visible PTO tracker in search, and for a small team on a simple allowance it works. The two places people leave it are per-seat pricing that climbs with headcount, and accrual maths that has to be corrected by hand for anyone hired mid-year.

Vacation Tracker is a well-run product with low churn and a strong Slack integration. The friction is tiering: accruals and hourly balances are Complete-only, and Complete carries a monthly minimum that makes it an expensive way to buy one feature.

Timetastic is a genuinely good product — around $2.8M in revenue on a team of six, which only happens when people like the software. It is also built UK-first, and the gaps a US buyer hits are US-shaped: state sick-leave accrual and semi-monthly pay periods.

BambooHR is a real HRIS — onboarding, records, performance, reporting. If you need all of that, buy it. If what you actually need is leave tracking that is correct, you are paying HRIS prices for one module.

LeaveBoard is inexpensive and does the basics cleanly, with a free tier that runs to nine employees. It is priced per employee, and like most of the category it does not encode US state sick-leave rules.

Connecteam is built for deskless and shift-based teams — scheduling, time clock, comms, training. Time off is one feature inside a hub, and the pricing model means you rarely buy just the hub you wanted.

Deputy is a shift-scheduling and time-clock platform with leave attached. If rotas are the centre of your operation it earns its price. If you are a salaried team that just needs leave to be right, most of it goes unused.
